Age: Approximately 50 million years old (Eocene Epoch)
Location Found: Green River Formation, Wyoming, USA
These fossil fish come from the world-famous Green River Formation, where fine lake sediments preserved incredible detail. Diplomystus was a fast-swimming predator that commonly hunted Knightia, a small schooling fish. Some rare fossils even preserve a Knightia inside a Diplomystus’s mouth, capturing a prehistoric feeding event frozen in time.
Each fossil is completely natural and one of a kind, making it an exceptional display piece from an ancient freshwater ecosystem.
