Care:
Day geckos are active, colorful arboreal geckos that thrive in a tall, planted enclosure with plenty of branches, cork, vines, and foliage for climbing and hiding. They require UVB lighting, warm daytime temperatures, and moderate to high humidity with good ventilation. Their diet consists primarily of appropriately sized insects along with a quality prepared gecko diet and occasional fruit-based foods.
Day geckos are best considered display animals rather than handling pets. Their skin is extremely delicate, and they are quick-moving geckos that can easily escape when their enclosure is opened.
Facts:
Day geckos are known for their incredibly bright coloration, often displaying vivid greens, blues, reds, and yellows. Unlike many gecko species, they are primarily active during the daytime. Their specialized toe pads allow them to climb smooth surfaces, including glass. With a properly planted enclosure, they make an impressive centerpiece display animal.
