Care:
Malayan Horned Frogs are terrestrial, forest-dwelling amphibians that thrive in a humid, well-ventilated enclosure with deep, moisture-retaining substrate and plenty of leaf litter, cork bark, and hiding areas. Maintain high humidity while avoiding constantly waterlogged substrate. Provide a shallow water dish and feed a varied diet of appropriately sized insects and other invertebrates. These frogs are ambush predators and spend much of their time motionless and partially concealed.
Facts:
The Malayan Horned Frog is famous for its incredible leaf-like camouflage. Its pointed snout, horn-like projections above the eyes, and brown coloration help it disappear among dead leaves on the forest floor. When sitting still in leaf litter, it can be extremely difficult to spot.
