Blue Tongue Skinks are one of the hardiest and most beginner-friendly lizards available. They thrive in an enclosure with warm basking temperatures of 100–105°F, an ambient temperature of 75–85°F, and nighttime temperatures above 70°F. Humidity should be maintained between 40–60%. A spacious enclosure with deep substrate, multiple hides, and access to fresh water is recommended. As omnivores, they require a varied diet consisting of quality proteins, vegetables, greens, and occasional fruits.
