Care

Enclosure: Juveniles should be housed in at least a 4’ × 2’ × 3’ enclosure, while adults require a minimum of 6’ × 3’ × 6’ with ample climbing branches, sturdy hides, and a large water area for soaking and swimming.

Temperature: Ambient temperatures should range from 80–88°F with a basking surface temperature of 130–150°F. Nighttime temperatures should remain above 75°F.

Humidity: Maintain 70–90% humidity with regular misting and good ventilation.

Diet: Feed a varied diet consisting of appropriately sized rodents, chicks, fish, insects, eggs, freshwater crustaceans, and other whole prey items. Juveniles should be fed more frequently than adults.
