Care:
- Temperature: Ambient 75–82°F; basking area 85–90°F (optional for adults but beneficial); water 72–78°F.
- Humidity: Aquatic species; maintain clean, well-filtered water.
- Enclosure: Hatchlings can start in a 40-gallon breeder, but adults require very large stock tanks, indoor ponds, or outdoor ponds. Provide deep swimming water, strong filtration, and a dry haul-out area if desired.
